Mayfair, London W1K
Adams Row extends from South Audley Street to Carlos Place. It was laid out in the 1720s to provide stables and coach houses for the mansions in nearby Grosvenor Square.
Gaysha undertook this project to retrofit this house, one of the first privately rented EnerPHit homes in Central London. The retrofit aim was to maintain all its existing historical features whilst delivering an efficient building to the highest standards.
• Highly efficient internal insulation including aerogel to achieve low u-values on existing façades whilst maintaining their historic characteristics
• Replacement of all existing single glazed windows with triple glazed PassivHaus certified windows that are identical when viewed externally
• Cold bridge free design
• Use of air-tight breathable membranes and air-tightness taping to eliminate air leakage
• Use of Mechanical Heat Recovery Ventilation (MHRV) to reduce heating demand, & highly efficient condensing boiler to ensure most of fuel used is turned into heating
